Description & Requirements
As a FORVIS Tax Senior, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop a team in tax, while also providing an unmatched client experience. If you have experience with tax advisory services, tax compliance, and tax provision to a diversified client base, this is the position for you!
How you will contribute:
- Provide tax compliance and advisory services to clients in the investment management industry including, but not limited to: hedge funds, private equity funds, and energy funds
- Help develop, build, and manage client relationships
- Assist in managing, developing, and coaching professional tax personnel
- Review returns prepared by tax staff
- Effectively delegate responsibilities, monitoring efforts of engagement teams
- Research complex tax issues, apply findings to projects, and clearly communicate those findings in writing to the client
- Maintain frequent communication with client management/personnel and consistently sell additional services provided by the firm
- Have a disciplined approach that is reasonably successful in attracting new clients and developing referral sources
- Extensive technical tax and accounting knowledge
- High-level analytical and reasoning skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and against client deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture
- Experience managing multiple client engagements
- Excellent client relationship and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college/university
- 1-5 years of relevant tax experience providing tax compliance and advisory services in public accounting or with a professional services or consulting firm
- CPA License
- Experience providing tax compliance and advisory services within the investment management industry (i.e. hedge funds, private equity funds, energy funds, real estate funds, fund of funds)
- In taxation of investment partnerships, such as private equity, funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, commodity pools, digital asset funds, passive foreign investment companies, controlled foreign corporations, and similar entities. Gosystem is a huge plus
- Proficiency with MS Office suite- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
