External Description: Responsibilities

Our Next Evolution of Accounting Resourcefulness (NEAR) is based in High Point, NC, and is comprised of individuals that have obtained a two- or four-year accounting degree. The NEAR team provides a centralized group of resources to assist assurance, tax, and advisory teams by performing more entry-level tasks, lower risk, repetitive, administrative, and non-judgmental. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with team members across the firm who will request work from the NEAR team. They will focus on productivity and innovative solutions to deliver quality work products to our teams.

This role will primarily support the tax compliance function of the firm. The position will include a steady and stable workload to assist with the day-to-day aspects of compliance and compliance-related services for our clients.

How you will contribute:

• Preparing C Corp and/or Flow-Through tax returns
• Communicating clearly and professionally while establishing and maintaining positive relationships with tax service line professionals
• Performing or assisting with other services and special projects as needed such as data analysis relating to consulting engagements
• Obtaining a working knowledge of related business tax return preparation software

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business matters
• Must be reliable and able to meet deadlines
• Ability to effectively collaborate with visitors, clients, staff, and coworkers in a professional manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree, preferably in business or accounting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with C Corp and/or Flow-Through tax preparation

Preferred Qualifications:

• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Experience with CCH Axcess, CorpTax, or OneSource
• SurePrep experience
• BNA fixed assets
