Description & Requirements

FORVIS’ Next Evolution of Accounting Resourcefulness (NEAR) is comprised of individuals who have obtained or are pursuing, two- or four-year accounting degrees. The NEAR team provides a centralized group of resources to assist assurance, tax, and advisory teams by performing more entry-level tasks, lower risk, repetitive, and administrative. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with team members across the firm who will request work from the NEAR team. They will focus on productivity and innovative solutions to deliver quality work products to our teams.

In this role, you will primarily support the assurance function of the firm. The position will include a steady and stable workload to assist with the day-to-day aspects of audit, review, and compilation-related services for our clients.


How you will contribute:

  • Working on portions of audit, review, and compilation engagements (training provided)
  • Handling multiple tasks and managing schedules in alignment with department needs
  • Providing timely feedback and progress updates for all work in the process
  • Develop a working knowledge of PC applications appropriate to his/her work assignment.
  • Thoroughly reviewing work product for accuracy and completeness
  • Completing work reliably and dependably and applying review feedback from experienced team members to future assignments
  • Serving as a resource for new staff and interns, assuming the role of a peer mentor, and providing training as appropriate
  • Achieving efficiency as measured by actual hours vs budgeted hours for an engagement
  • Performing or assisting with other duties as assigned by the management of the FORVIS NEAR team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Some college coursework is required, an associate's degree in business or accounting is preferred
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
